Join Leaders and Neighbors in Shaping the Adirondack Region’s Climate Future

Partners of the Adirondack Common Ground Alliance invite you to attend the Adirondack Climate Conference on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY. Hosted in partnership with Paul Smith’s College, The Wild Center, and the Adirondack Research Consortium, this conference is an essential gathering for regional leaders, community members, innovative problem-solvers, and students committed to tackling climate challenges and building a resilient future for Northern New York.


Why Attend?

This one-day event is an opportunity to engage with experts and your neighbors on community-based climate resilience efforts across sectors such as health, emergency response, infrastructure, and workforce development. Discussions will explore ways to strengthen infrastructure, protect biodiversity, and promote sustainable business and workforce development, ensuring the Adirondack region is prepared for the challenges ahead.


What to Expect

Attendees will participate in a mix of plenary sessions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities, with the goal of fostering an inclusive climate resilience network. Highlights of the conference include:

  • Key Updates on Regional Initiatives – Learn about the Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN) and the North Country Rural Resilience Roadmap—collaborative projects focused on climate adaptation and preparedness.
  • Presentations from Regional Leaders – Experts, policymakers, and scientists will share insights on extreme weather response, clean energy technology, climate and public health, and economic development.
  • Workshops on Critical Climate Topics – Engage in discussions on NYS resources for building climate resilience, emergency preparedness strategies, and more.
  • Networking Reception – Connect with fellow attendees from government agencies, local organizations, businesses, and academia in an end-of-day reception designed to foster meaningful collaboration.
