WATCH: Common Ground Alliance Winter Meeting
March 25, 2021

The Adirondack Common Ground Alliance (CGA) Winter Meeting, held on March 25, 2021 included a presentation by CGA and Northern Forest Center of the final Strategy for Attracting New Residents to the Adirondacks, a panel discussion on sharing experiences, and a look ahead to the 2021 summer forum.

As part of the winter meeting, the Northern Forest Center shared a summary of Attracting New Residents:  A Strategy for the Adirondack Park and its Communities. Leslie Karasin of the Center invited anyone who wants to stay informed about the initiative to complete this short survey.

The Center also facilitated a panel discussion with several residents of Millinocket, Maine. The focus was one of shared experiences by engaging in the work of community revitalization and attracting new residents. The story of the loss of an economic engine is a familiar one, however Millinocket is charting a positive course for its future, guided in part by the Katahdhin Gazetteer strategy.
